Storytellers, we are hiring! AnimalConcepts Storyteller (Part-time)

At AnimalConcepts we collaborate with zoos, aquariums, sanctuaries, wildlife centres, universities, research facilities, companion, and farm animal organisations to support our collective goals of optimal wellbeing for animals, the people who care for them, as well as conservation, engagement, and research. Our purpose is rooted in and based on an interconnected culture of care and respect, serving people, animals, the greater community of life, and the planet we share.

We are seeking to grow our compassionate and creative team with an experienced storyteller. Our communications efforts include management of our social media pages including Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram, as well as creation and dissemination of e.g., newsletters, reports, events, booklets, and blog/vlog posts. Our goal is to share our stories and communicate our purpose to a wide community of animal care professionals, students, researchers, and others in the space of human, animal, and planetary wellbeing, invite new members to our platforms and collaborate with clients through our various services and activities such as habitat design, animal wellbeing assessments, human wellbeing, research and writing.

This online working-from-home position can be completed from anywhere in the world. We initially expect this role to be 8 to 16 hours a week PT with the scope to grow in the future. 

Responsibilities

  • Creating content for the AnimalConcepts social media pages and newsletters that communicate our purpose, with the aim of growing our global clients, and community and encouraging membership and engagement
  • Supporting the wider team with communications and social media efforts including management of social media and online communities
  • Following social media for trending topics to utilise on social media channels
  • Monitoring social media and website analytics and engagement
  • Assisting in the creation and delivery of communications content using Canva and other programs

 

Requirements

  • Relevant degree and work experience with 2 recent references
  • Storytelling experience fundamental
  • Experience in creating community preferred
  • Fluent English, written and spoken, additional languages welcome
  • Experience running communications and marketing campaigns including through social media (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram etc.) and newsletters
  • Solid understanding of social media analytics and algorithms
  • Some experience creating web-based content in Canva would be beneficial but not essential
  • The office is based in the Madrid, Spain time zone and meeting times will occur based on the working hours of the head office
