It connects deeply to my ideas around flourishing for all. For peoples, other animals, the greater community of life, and this beautiful planet we share. I am currently a PhD researcher in the Psychology Department at the University of Stirling in Scotland,  focusses on individual, team, leadership, and organisational aspects of human wellbeing in zoos and aquariums. My book Wild about Self-care is coming out in 2026, so stay tuned!

She seems highly suitable considering her level of study, interests, and passion for human-animal connection and more! It will also fit a niche in the literature; I haven’t come across many human psychology books relating to animal care, which is necessary and very interesting. I think all workplaces would benefit from more self-care approaches. And I love how compassion is such a key word and topic throughout, and the chapter on DEEI is very important, as I believe that diversity is the root of beauty. Chapter 11 on INTERBEING, I couldn’t put that better myself. Let us open our arms, hearts, and minds to a more collaborative, gentle workplace and world.

I believe the author is suitable to author this book given her extensive experience. There have been no books that have particularly explored employee wellbeing within wildlife and conservation professions. I particularly like the chapter on ‘We-Care’, which appraises the significance of community and team cohesiveness, individual and leadership wellness. Whilst analysing the nuances of trust, respect, care, and belongingness, analysts and practitioners can effectively foster the physiological and psychological wellbeing of those employed within these professions.
